Psychotherapy and well-being sessions

One-on-one psychotherapy sessions (in-person or online) include consistent, usually weekly, sessions that involve exploring one’s inner and outer world with a therapist. Beit Insan’s core approach to therapy is a humanistic approach that steps away from the pathological and diagnostic frameworks and opens space for the fullness of the person to be present and held in the therapeutic space.

Following closely the person’s organic and natural process of healing, we co-create a space where one’s inner wisdom, intuition, eternal qualities, and uniqueness are at the forefront of what guides the healing and transformation. As we delve into shadow work and meet the difficulties, we allow these experiences to shed light on what needs attending and healing, rather than turning away from it or “correcting” it, helping the person on the healing journey to come closer to their authentic self and authentic relations.

Walk-n-Talk Therapy

Walk-and-Talk sessions at Beit Insan consist of psychotherapy or mentoring while walking or sitting outdoors, and can take place in public places such as hiking trails, parks, large beaches, long walkways, and urban walkways with low foot traffic. Walk-and-Talk sessions are an invitation to be in a reciprocal healing connection with natural environments and the more-than-human so that they are life-long resources to you on your healing and transformational journey.

Wisdom Circles

Wisdom circles open space to share our inner wisdom and knowledge surrounding topics that are existential, philosophical and spiritual in nature. We dive so very deep in these gatherings and consider them to be unique opportunities to talk about things many of us think about but find hard to articulate. It is a space to enrich our inter-beingness and connect the pieces of the fabric of being so that we can come to a fuller understanding of life and existence.

Mindful Self-Compassion Course

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, reduced anxiety and stress, maintenance of healthy habits, and satisfying personal relationships. With mindful self-compassion, we’re better able to recognise our challenging moments and to face them with a kinder, more compassionate and sustainable response.

Animal-assisted psychotherapy

Having an animal in a space of healing can be very therapeutic for some. Our furry friends can nurture a safer environment and offer a soothing presence as one engages in difficult explorations.

Group Level Psychotherapy

Humanistically oriented group level psychotherapy offers a space to come together and heal through shared experiences and learning from one another – after all, our existence is deeply connected to our relationships with others. We look closely at the dynamics that emerge between us that inevitably mimic our worlds outside the therapeutic space. As we co-create a safe and respectful space between us, it offers an opportunity to work through our difficulties with and through others and allows space for more authentic being within relationships. Group sessions are co-facilitated by Nadine and Dr. Samar and can be done within or outside of Beit Insan.

Nature Bathing

Nature bathing is a profound and an innately healing practice that involves immersing our senses in the special qualities of nature, and connecting and forming a relationship with the more-than-human world which we are all inherently a part of. It can be seen as a process of remembering – remembering who we are and where we came from. Going back to one’s original home in nature can help quiet the mind and allow space to reconnect with who is behind the chattering mind, reaching a deeper understanding of self that is also in deep interconnectedness with all sentient beings.
